At Rao Charitable Trust (RCT), we believe that education is the foundation of a better future. Our Educational Support Programs are designed to ensure that every child, regardless of their socio-economic background, has access to quality education and the resources they need to succeed.
1. Supporting Children of Marginalized Communities RCT works closely with children from underprivileged backgrounds, including the children of laborers, construction workers, and slum dwellers, to enroll them in schools and provide ongoing academic support. By bridging educational gaps, we aim to break the cycle of poverty and create pathways for sustainable development.
2. Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Recognizing the importance of early development, we focus on educating expecting mothers and young children, particularly in tribal areas of Khammam district. We conduct awareness programs on pre-natal care, nutrition, and child development, ensuring that children get a strong start in life. Plans are underway to provide day-care facilities for children whose mothers are engaged in work outside their homes.
3. Vocational Education for Students Beyond formal education, RCT provides vocational training to young students to enhance their skillsets and prepare them for future employment. Courses in trades like computer basics, carpentry, mobile repair, and more are offered to create a self-reliant generation.
4. Advocacy for Child Rights Through partnerships with child rights protection forums, RCT works to ensure that every child enjoys their basic rights to survival, development, protection, and participation. We conduct awareness campaigns to prevent child labor, exploitation, and other harmful practices.
5. Infrastructure and Resource Support RCT provides resources such as books, uniforms, and stationery to students from economically weaker sections to ease the burden on families. We collaborate with local schools to improve infrastructure and learning environments, making them more conducive to education.
