At Rao Charitable Trust (RCT), we believe that lasting change begins with awareness. Social awareness is the cornerstone of a responsible and inclusive society, where individuals understand their roles in fostering equality, sustainability, and collective progress. Through our Social Awareness Programs, we aim to educate, inspire, and mobilize communities to address pressing social issues and build a better future.

» Key Areas of Focus

1. Health Awareness
HIV/AIDS Prevention: Organized workshops, sensitization meetings, and campaigns, such as our awareness event on World AIDS Day 2018, to educate communities about HIV/AIDS prevention and reduce stigma.
Maternal and Child Health: Educating expecting mothers and adolescent girls about pre- and post-natal care in tribal and rural regions, ensuring healthier futures for families.

2. Environmental Conservation
Promoting plantation activities to combat pollution and improve local ecosystems. Distributed over 5,000 saplings and fruit-bearing plants, encouraging sustainable practices within communities.
Awareness drives highlighting the importance of protecting natural resources and reducing carbon footprints.

3. Women Empowerment
Programs aimed at increasing gender sensitivity and challenging societal norms. Training women in skills traditionally dominated by men, fostering gender equality and financial independence.

4. Rights and Equality
Advocacy for Child Rights, ensuring children enjoy their rights to survival, development, protection, and participation.
Awareness campaigns to end practices like child labor, forced marriage, and gender-based violence.
Workshops and advocacy efforts promoting human rights, especially for marginalized groups.

5. Water and Sanitation
Campaigns on safe drinking water, hygiene, and sanitation to combat waterborne diseases.
Distributed Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials like booklets, posters, and pamphlets to promote the Swachh Bharat Mission in Khammam District.
Introduced low-cost sanitation solutions for rural communities.

6. Disability Awareness
Organized camps to address the challenges faced by Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
Educated PWDs and their families about government schemes and support systems available for rehabilitation and empowerment.
